My Story

I am a clarinetist and repair technician currently based in Vancouver, BC. I specialize in the fine repair of the orchestral clarinet family.

In my near decade of work, I have serviced instruments for members of a variety of major orchestras and ensembles across the U.S. I was formerly the Lead Clarinet Repair Specialist for RDG Woodwinds in Los Angeles, where I worked on instruments for members of groups such as the LAPhil, Boston Symphony, San Francisco Symphony, New World Symphony and the International Contemporary Ensemble. I also serviced instruments for institutions such as the Music Academy of the West, USC Thornton School of Music, and the Colburn School.

I started learning repair as a teenager in New York City. I was pursuing my BM at New York University when I met Melanie Wong, the clarinet specialist who graciously first taught me how to disassemble and assess a clarinet. I then spent my underclassman years apprenticing with Guy Chadash of Chadash Clarinets. Towards the end of my degree, I took up an apprenticeship with Kristin Bertrand at her Woodwind Workshop on Long Island. I moved out to Los Angeles in 2022 to join the incredible repair staff at RDG Woodwinds, where I had the privilege of learning from and working alongside my amazing colleagues Tom Yaeh, John Peterson, and Jennifer Spier.

I’m now so very excited to be here in Vancouver pursuing my MM at the University of British Columbia. I have been fortunate enough to study with some of the best technicians on this continent, and I look forward to sharing their knowledge with the clarinetists of this lovely city.
